UPI News Update – March 2026

This UPI News Update contains important, time-sensitive information regarding upcoming meetings, elections, and community events.
UPI General Membership Meeting & NominationsOur next meeting is on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Your participation is vital as we will be nominating candidates for all Executive Committee (ExCom) and Board of Directors (BoD) positions. Please find the attached meeting agenda, 2026 Election Guidelines, and current List of Officers for additional information.
You may nominate yourself if you meet the qualifications. Current officers may run for their current or a different position but must be nominated or must inform the Nominating Committee of their intent.
Upcoming Seminars and Services:
Protocol Seminar: On Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Carson, CA, the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles (PCGLA) and the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles (UPAAGLA) are hosting “Master Diplomatic Protocol with Hon. Consul General Adelio S. Cruz.” This is an excellent preparation for our 4th Gala Event on October 11, 2026. See the attached flyer for details.
Consular Outreach: The PCGLA and the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce Greater San Diego (FACCGSD) will conduct consular outreach in National City on March 21-22, 2026, at the Southwest Masonic Lodge. This is a great opportunity for those unable to travel to Los Angeles. Details are in the attached flyer.

Finally, here’s an update on the funeral services for Alex Caragan, UPI former Graphics Artist and Website Staff:
Thursday, March 19, 2026, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Viewing at Glen Abbey Memorial Park; Rosary at 6:00 PM (Magnolia Room).
Friday, March 20, 2026, 10:00 AM: Memorial Mass at Most Precious Blood Church, followed by the committal service at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
